22 June 2015     Advance Production & Scheduling: 2015-2017

It’s said to be the largest seasonal migration of humanity on the planet. Every Chinese New Year (CNY), more than 100 million Chinese workers take time off to return to their home-towns to celebrate the New Year Spring Festival with their families. This virtual shut-down of the country’s commercial activity may come as a shock to the unprepared buyer.

To minimise the impact of the Chinese New Year as well as other Chinese holidays, good planning & organisation is essential in ensuring that inventory levels are not impacted, that quality issues are avoided, and costs are kept under control.

We at Cirtech EDA (Pty) Ltd have walked the PCB path for over two decades, have learnt valuable lessons, and clearly understand the challenges faced during these supplier holiday periods. Click here to download our APS guide.

22 May 2015     Is Size Important?

Professional users of Printed Circuit Boards have much higher demands on its suppliers today than 10 years ago. When one speaks about demands, the first thing that comes to mind is quality, delivery precision and price, basic factors that the customers take for granted. When all this is in place customers can focus more on factors such as; problems solving, detect mistakes in Gerber files, design support, 8D reports, response time, product mix, (to shrink no of suppliers) and sustainable business. The list can be long and it will grow as time goes by. So the question is, can you support customers with all above important factors with small purchase power? Click here for more.

16 May 2012     All that glitters is not gold, so how reliable are your PCBs?

All that glitters is not gold’ is a well-known expression which in various forms originated in or before the 12th century. In act II, scene VII of The Merchant of Venice, William Shakespeare wrote: “All that glisters is not gold.” As printed circuit board (PCB) technology continues to evolve – now the most complex bespoke component in any PCB assembly – manufacturing PCBs that are reliable has paramount importance. 16 February 2011     Microsectioning improves PCB quality

PCBs are destined for a rigorous life. When they are incorporated into whatever appliance or machine they were designed for, they have to survive several passes through ovens operating at 260°C.
